Security Council Adopts Resolution to Strengthen UNMISS Capacity
In light of the growing violence, human rights abuses and killings fuelled by ethnic tensions in many parts of South Sudan and the growing displacement of civilians, Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has requested Security Council support to urgently transfer necessary resources to the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS). It authorizes the strengthening of UNMISS with 5,500 more troops, and 440 more police.
