“And on Myanmar, our team on the ground says they are increasingly concerned about the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Myanmar more than three months after the military ceased control. According to our humanitarian colleagues, the impact of ongoing intensified armed clashes continues to be felt in Myanmar's southeast, where an estimated 40,000 people have been displaced since December 2020. More people have been forced from their homes since late March due to attacks, including airstrikes, by Myanmar’s military, and other groups. The continued fighting in Kachin and northern Shan states has caused thousands of people to flee their homes in recent weeks as a result of armed clashes.
