Description
Since 1957 (the International Geophysical Year) the huge icebound continent has acquired a permanent population. Twelve countries now maintain scientific expeditions "on the ice", exchange the fruits of their research and visit each other's establishments. Countries often hostile in the political world up north have agreed to this extent to break the ice.
