Thousands Take Refuge at UNAMID's Khor Abeche IDP Camp
Children play in a community centre recently constructed by engineers at the African Union-United Nations Hybrid Operation in Darfur (UNAMID) Khor Abeche camp for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in South Darfur, Sudan. The camp encompasses approximately 70,000 square metres, has watch towers with UNAMID personnel deployed 24 hours a day, and is equipped with solar power, two community centres and public latrines.
