UNAMI Marks Humanitarian Day, Anniversary of 2003 Baghdad Bombing
19 August marks the anniversary of the bombing of the Headquarters of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) in which twenty-two UN staff lost their lives. Today, eleven years later, UNAMI staff planted tree saplings to honour their fallen colleagues.
The UN flag is lowered to half mast at the UNAMI Headquarters memorial to those who lost their lives in the 2003 bombing.
